BASKETRY WORKSHOP

BASKETRY WORKSHOP  with professional basket-maker Faye Gosling.

Small round basket - Learn how to make a small, round basket from willow, using the stake and strand method.

For those who would like to try their hand at basketry:  you will learn how to make a round base and traditional techniques such as a pairing weave, three-rod wale, a French or English rand, and a simple border.

PRICE: £125, to include tuition, all materials and light refreshments.  

An enjoyable full workshop day; weave your own basket and learn new skills to begin your basket-making journey.

You will recieve expert tuition from a professional basket-maker, in a relaxed and sociable workshop setting.

The workshop would also make a lovely gift experience for a birthday, if you are looking for something different!

VENUE: Earl Soham Village Hall, Suffolk IP13 7SF. Free parking at the venue. Good wi-fi signal.

HOURS: 10am-4.30pm, with an hour for lunch plus tea/coffee breaks. 

Tea, herbal tisanes, coffee and biscuits are included in the price.

REFRESHMENTS: Lunch: please bring your own lunch or a Bring & Share. There is a small kitchen and Green Room, with use of the Events Lawn if the weather is fine. Alternatively, John Hutton's provisions shop is a short walk away in the centre of the village where you will find good coffee, a selection of fresh, made-to-order hot paninis and more.

NOTE: working with willow requires a good amount of hand strength...please discuss with Faye if you are unsure. 

All tools will be provided, but if you have a pair of good secateurs, these are useful to bring with you.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Within 7 days of booking: Cancellations up to 4 weeks before the workshop date will receive a 100% refund. Cancellations made less than 4 weeks prior to the workshop date, will only be able to receive a refund if I can fill the space on the course. If I can fill the space, you will receive a 100% refund, minus £5 admin fee.

After 7 days of booking: Cancellations made 4 weeks or more before the workshop date will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 4 weeks before the workshop date will be charged at full price.

Workshop cancellation: if, for whatever reason, the workshop is cancelled, you will receive a 100% refund.
